APIC Presentations

APIC PRESENTATIONS
During APIC 2019, we will have daily presentations by the esteemed Robert Garcia

Day 1 - Wednesday | Robert Garcia Introduces APIC Attendees to Natural Catalytic Converters

A new whitepaper titled, “Evolving Technologies for Decontaminating Healthcare Environments” by Robert Garcia, BS, MT(ASCP), CIC, FAPIC reviews progress made with cleaning and disinfecting of the environment of care. He discusses the growing need for technology designed to supplement normal protocols and provides an overview of the benefits of some of these technologies as well as their limitations. The article highlights a new technology offering continuous, facility-wide solution with the installation of natural catalytic converters into existing HVAC ducts. A summary of the white paper was released in the June issue of Infection Control Today (ICT) and the full article was released on the ICT website. In addition, ICT is providing all APIC attendees a copy of the full study with their June issue.

If you didn’t receive a copy, please stop by booth 1221 to pick one up. There, you can also see the technology via a live demonstration or learn more about it by attending an informative session presented by Mr. Garcia himself. Presentation schedules for Booth 1221 are as follows:

    • Wednesday: 11a, 12p, 1p
    • Thursday: 11:30a, 12:30p, 1:30p

Day 2 - Thursday | CASPR Group Raffles Off $1,000 Scholarship to APIC 2020!

Have you stopped by Booth 1221, yet? If not, hurry! They are raffling off a $1,000 scholarship to APIC 2020. CEO, Gail Warrior, commented, “As a company that is focused on infection prevention, we feel that anything we can do to help more IPs to participate in this wonderful educational forum is going to help us move towards our common goal of ZERO HAIs. This is also why we’ve joined APIC as a strategic resource partner for 2019.”.

To enter, attendees may drop off a direct mail piece and/or fill in the following blank, “Prevention Is…”.

Let the CASPR Group know what that means to you and you might even see your answer in an upcoming advertising campaign! Attendees can enter their response on an iPad, write it on a button, or even in the selfie frame to post to social media with friends! The winner will be drawn at random and announced on Friday, June 14th.

Day 3 - Friday | New Continuous Disinfecting Technology developed by CASPR Leads to Reduction in Employee Absenteeism

CASPR (Clean Air & Surface Pathogen Reduction) is bringing a continuous solution to facilities. Results to date average up to a 90 % reduction in Bacterial and Fungal micro burdens as well as a significant reduction in the incidence of clinically relevant pathogens.

These pathogens are resilient and able to reform colonies in as little as two hours after routine cleaning and disinfection. CASPR developed a continuous solution that addresses not only high touch areas that were missed or re-contaminated but those areas that are normally not addressed likes floors, hallways, nurses stations, and more.

The reduction of micro burden and pathogens provides an added protection for patients and has demonstrated a benefit to the hospital staff. In a recent study in a 527 bed hospital, HR tracked a 42% reduction in absenteeism in their ICU during the four month trial vs. the same four month period the previous year. The resulting financial impact for the facility was significant.

To see the technology in action, attend an informative session, or meet CASPR, stop by booth 1221 today or visit www.CASPRgroup.com to learn more!
