Designed for Specifiers. Independently Tested.

When engineers choose CASPR, they’re not just specifying an air purifier, they’re integrating a 3rd party tested solution that meets the highest standards for health, efficacy, and energy efficiency. CASPR provides real-time pathogen reduction in the air and on all surfaces, without increasing HVAC complexity. Disinfection is no longer something we “do” occasionally; it’s designed into the building. CASPR turns clean air and surfaces into a design feature, working silently through your HVAC system 24/7.

Backed by independent 3rd party certified testing and validated under ASHRAE Standard 241, CASPR systems are trusted in healthcare, education, commercial, and government facilities nationwide. Whether you’re designing for IAQ performance, infection control, or energy savings, CASPR helps meet your goals: efficiently and reliably.

Why Engineers Trust CASPR:

Continuous Disinfection:

Continuously neutralizes pathogens in air and on all surfaces to support healthier indoor environments.

ASHRAE 241 Compliant

First system tested under the new ASHRAE 241 standard for controlling infectious aerosols in occupied buildings.

Supports IAQ Compliance

Helps meet IAQ benchmarks and regulatory standards without redesigning HVAC systems.

Energy Savings

Reduces required outdoor air ventilation under ASHRAE 62.1 IAQP, cutting utility costs and system loads.

Low Maintenance

All CASPR products require minimum maintenance with easy integration into existing HVAC infrastructure.

Unlock IAQ Efficiency with CASPR and ASHRAE 62.1

ASHRAE Standard 62.1 outlines the core requirements for achieving acceptable indoor air quality (IAQ) in commercial buildings. While its most common application involves increasing outdoor air to dilute indoor pollutants, the standard also includes the Indoor Air Quality Procedure (IAQP). This is an alternative pathway that allows designers to reduce outside air volume by using air-cleaning technologies to directly reduce indoor contaminant levels.

CASPR supports IAQP compliance by oxidizing and reducing Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in the air and on surfaces. This enables projects to reduce the amount of outside air needed, resulting in smaller HVAC loads, improved energy efficiency, and potential reductions in equipment size, all without compromising air quality.

As an added benefit, CASPR’s NC2I technology continuously reduces airborne and surface pathogens in real time, delivering a level of infection control beyond what ventilation alone can offer.

Key Benefits of Specifying CASPR Under ASHRAE 62.1 (IAQP):

  • Reduce outside air by 50-60% in real-world installations
  • Lower HVAC tonnage requirements = Smaller equipment, reduced capital cost
  • Decrease heating/cooling loads = Significant operational energy savings
  • Enhance IAQ with an independently tested disinfection technology that works on air and all surfaces
  • CASPR is more effective than dilution alone, combining infection control and energy efficiency into one engineered solution that does not require monitoring or compliance.

One of the first technologies tested to ASHRAE Standard 241

The COVID-19 pandemic reshaped the way we think about indoor air quality, especially when it comes to infectious aerosols. In response, ASHRAE released Standard 241: Control of Infectious Aerosols, the first national framework designed to reduce the risk of airborne transmission in occupied spaces.

Unlike traditional IAQ standards that focus on ventilation and filtration, ASHRAE 241 establishes rigorous, performance-based testing for devices that claim to reduce pathogens. It covers both efficacy and safety, offering engineers a clear benchmark for specifying disinfection technologies.

CASPR was the first system to undergo and publish results from ASHRAE 241-compliant testing. In a certified independent bioaerosol lab, CASPR’s NC2I technology achieved:
70% MS2 viral reduction in 4 minutes
99% reduction within 1 hour
No ozone, no VOCs, no harmful residues
Tested at real-world operational concentrations (0.01–0.04 ppm H₂O₂)

By choosing CASPR, you’re not just adding another IAQ feature; you’re specifying a, 3rd party tested, and standards-aligned solution for real-world infection control.

Certified Lab Results:

  • 70% reduction of MS2 bacteriophage in 4 minutes
  • 99% reduction of MS2 bacteriophage in 60 minutes
  • Tested to ASHRAE 241 by ARE Labs
  • No ozone (UL 2998 verified)
  • No VOCs or harmful byproducts
  • Operates silently
  • 0.00 in WG pressure drop in ductwork

Achieve Real Disinfection in Healthcare Spaces with CASPR

ASHRAE Standard 170 sets the benchmark for ventilation design in healthcare facilities, focusing on outside air (OA) volume and air changes per hour (ACH) to dilute airborne contaminants. While this approach improves air circulation, it doesn’t address the pathogens that contribute to healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), especially on surfaces or in stagnant air pockets.

CASPR offers a new layer of protection beyond ventilation. It actively neutralizes pathogens both in the air and on all surfaces, continuously and without relying on airflow volume or manual cleaning cycles. Whether installed in central HVAC systems, or in-room ceiling tiles, CASPR operates in occupied spaces, supplementing traditional design with real-time, independently tested pathogen reduction.

CASPR Pathogen Reduction Results

In clinical testing, CASPR reduced pathogens with the following effectiveness. These reductions directly support lower HAI risks, enhancing patient and employee health, and meeting infection control goals without adding additional labor for monitoring or compliance.

  • SARS-CoV-2 – 99.99%
  • H1N1 Influenza – 99.93%
  • MRSA – 99.96%
  • E. Coli – 99.67%
  • Listeria – 99.99%
  • Pseudomonas Aeruginosa – 99.99%
  • Candida Auris (Fungi) – 99.99%
  • MS2 Bacteriophage – 99.93%
  • Clostridium Difficile Colitis (Spores) – 91.11%

Why CASPR Matters in Healthcare Engineering

  • ACH alone can’t disinfect surfaces, but CASPR can.
  • Operates continuously in patient rooms, ICUs, surgical suites, and exam areas
  • Reduces bioburden between terminal cleanings
  • Independently tested efficacy against critical healthcare pathogens
