Texas A&M University-Commerce and CASPR Technologies Team Tackle COVID-19

Sweeping agreement reached to install COVID and MRSA-fighting technology to protect the university’s athletics department and athletes

COMMERCE, TEXAS – Texas A&M University-Commerce and CASPR Technologies announced a partnership which will see the Lion Athletics install CASPR’s award-winning disinfection technology throughout the school’s athletics facilities.

The A&M-Commerce Lions are flagship members of the Lone Star Conference and represent the university in Division II intercollegiate sports. The Lions are represented by nearly 450 student-athletes in 14 sports.

“CASPR technology has quickly established itself as a Best in Class partner for Lion Athletics and our institution,” said A&M-Commerce Director of Athletics Tim McMurray. “Throughout this pandemic, we have placed safety, health, and risk mitigation as our highest priority for our student-athletes, coaches, and staff. It is a true point of difference that CASPR is aligned with us on these guiding principles.”

“We are excited to partner with Texas A&M University-Commerce as they tackle the challenges of this pandemic,” said CASPR CEO and TAMUC alum Scott Wheeler. “More and more universities recognize that the entire environment must be treated, air and surface, if we are going to win the fight against COVID-19. It also helps that the technology works against bacteria, such as staph, especially within an athletic environment.”

Under the agreement, CASPR technology was installed throughout Lion Athletics’ facilities to provide 24/7 continuous disinfection to the lobby, meeting rooms, offices and locker rooms for all sports including Football, Basketball, Soccer, Softball, Golf, Volleyball, and Track & Field.

CASPR technology was installed within TAMUC’s existing HVAC systems to treat a majority of the air and surfaces within the facility. Individual portable units were also installed to ensure optimal coverage in hard-to-reach spaces. Independent lab tests show CASPR technology effectively reduces up to 99.9% of viruses, bacteria, and mold, including SARS-CoV2, the virus that causes COVID-19 and MRSA, the antibacterial-resistant staff bacteria which often plagues athletic facilities.

Hope’s Door Domestic Violence Shelter Reopens Resale Store Thanks to CASPR Disinfection Technology

Hope’s Door Domestic Violence Shelter Reopens Resale Store Thanks to CASPR Disinfection Technology

CASPR Mobile Units Created Safe and Clean Environment to Protect Patrons and Volunteers from COVID-19 and Other Communicable Diseases

DALLAS – Feb. 22, 2021 – Hope’s Door New Beginning Center (HDNBC), a Dallas-area domestic violence shelter, recently reopened its resale store thanks to three CASPR Mobile air and surface disinfection units that were donated by 2C MedTech, a distributor of CASPR products in Texas.

The consumer-facing resale shop for HDNBC, located at 2129 W. Parker Road, Suite 300 in Plano, brings in a significant revenue stream for the organization. This allows the center to serve all of North Texas with various programs including a hotline that receives more than 5,000 calls yearly and emergency shelters with a 55-bed capacity, which house more than 500 adults and children in residence each year. The recent pandemic, however, put an even more significant strain on families, according to Christina Coultas, CEO of HDNBC.

“COVID-19 affected many families in significant ways – one being increased cases of domestic violence due to stay-at-home orders,” she said. Family violence calls to Texas law enforcement increased by 9% during the first six months of the pandemic, while victims of family violence reported a 40% decrease in their safety. “The pandemic made decisions for survivors to access safety and support complicated,” Coultas added.

On top of that, the organization’s resale store was hit because volunteers couldn’t safely serve customers at the store. “Many of our regular resale volunteers are in a high-risk category for the virus,” said Coultas. “And when one of our staff had a confirmed case of COVID-19, we knew we had to close shop for the safety of everyone.”

With fewer people coming to its shelters and the closure of the resale store, the organization took a 30% revenue hit on its budget in 2020, one of the largest declines since it began serving North Texas more than 35 years ago. With no immediate solution in sight, the management team was concerned they wouldn’t be able to reopen their doors.

That is when 2C MedTech stepped in to donate three CASPR Mobile units for use in the resale store. HDNBC was also able to get funding for an additional two units that will be installed in the organization’s community living spaces. “We were able to reopen our resale store due to the CASPR units, plus we can now assure victims seeking services that we have added additional protection for a clean, safe place for survivors to stay,” added Coultas.

Unlike disinfection processes that use an episodic ultraviolet (UV) light or harmful chemicals, CASPR’s technology uses a proprietary Natural Catalytic Converter (NCC) process to naturally extract oxygen and moisture from ambient air and then produce and safely deliver continuous trace levels of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to disinfect indoor spaces. The result is an automated and continuous reduction of air and surface viruses and bacteria in a way that is safe for use in spaces occupied with people and pets, and with no need to modify existing custodial processes.

“Being able to offer clean, healthy environments for everyone is our mission at CASPR Technologies, and it’s so important in spaces that serve a critical need in our communities, such as Hope’s Door New Beginning Center,” said Dr. Christophe Suchy, co-founder and chief inventor of CASPR Technologies. “Our technology has been proven to kill 99.99% of SARS-CoV-2 viruses within 24 hours, which gives our customers peace of mind and a safe environment to meet the needs of those they serve.”

New Study Confirms CASPR Technologies’ Air & Surface Disinfection Technology Kills 99.99 Percent of SARS-CoV-2 Virus Within 24 Hours

University of Wisconsin Study Shows Reduction Begins Immediately

DALLAS – Jan. 5, 2021 – CASPR Technologies today announced that its CASPR 1000 In-Duct disinfection technology kills 98 percent of SARS-CoV-2 viruses on surfaces within six hours and 99.99 percent within 24 hours, according to a recent study conducted by the University of
Wisconsin-Madison.

Unlike disinfection processes that use an episodic ultraviolet (UV) light or harmful chemicals, CASPR’s technology uses a proprietary Natural Catalytic Converter (NCC) process to naturally extract oxygen and moisture from ambient air and then produce and continuously deliver trace levels of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to disinfect indoor spaces. The result is an automated and continuous reduction of air and surface viruses and bacteria in a way that is safe for use in spaces occupied with people and pets, and with no need to modify existing custodial processes.

“Our natural disinfection technology is designed to reduce the microburden levels in any given space, while that space can still be used safely at its intended operating capacity with human occupancy,” said Dr. Christophe Suchy, President and Chief Technical Officer of CASPR Technologies. “We’re excited that the University of Wisconsin study objectively shows that our technology can efficiently and effectively neutralize the virus that causes COVID-19.”

The CASPR 1000 is part of the CASPR Pro product line of HVAC in-duct solutions. Available in a variety of sizes, based on a target area’s square footage, all CASPR Pro line products offer the same output of hydrogen peroxide and can be expected to perform at the same optimal levels as outlined in the study. CASPR’s Medik and Compact solutions offer an even stronger output which reduces harmful pathogens quicker, and are ideal for high-traffic spaces or environments where higher amounts of contagions may exist. Like all CASPR products, the healthcare-grade technologies are safe for people, pets and plants.

CASPR’s technology is based on the Photocatalytic oxidation process released by NASA in 1967 and improved by Dr. Suchy for the healthcare industry. He was awarded the Innovation of Excellence from NASA in 2019 for his improvements on the technology, which is in use today in CASPR’s products.

Dallas Fibroids Doctor Installs Innovative Disinfecting Technology during COVID-19 Pandemic

First DFW Medical Practice to Incorporate CASPR Air and Surface Disinfecting Technology into COVID-19 Safety Precautions

We are excited to share that Fibroid Institute Dallas is the 1st medical practice of its kind in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to incorporate CASPR air and surface disinfecting technology to COVID-19 safety precautions. The addition of two CASPR Mobile units will reduce dangerous pathogens found in the air and on surfaces throughout the facility. Dental offices, restaurants and airports are also customers of the CASPR technology. Businesses adopting use of the CASPR units in their facilities believe that they cannot put a price on the safety and health of their team members, patients and customers. Fibroid Institute is led by Medical Director Dr. Suzanne Slonim, the leading Dallas fibroids doctor and national advocate for uterine fibroid treatment without surgery.

How CASPR Mobile Units Work

CASPR stands for Continuous Air and Surface Pathogen Reduction, and each CASPR Mobile unit safely reduces pathogens up to 1500 square feet. CASPR technology utilizes a multi-wavelength ultraviolet light and catalyst with a proprietary coating to convert moisture and oxygen in the air into oxidizing molecules, including hydrogen peroxide. The units are up to 99.96% effective against bacteria, viruses, molds—even reducing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and odors. Fibroid Institute Dallas has one CASPR Mobile unit in the lobby and one at the nurses’ station near patient exam rooms.

Dental Office Level Safety

Dallas fibroids doctor Suzanne Slonim, MD first learned about the units through a friend in the dental industry who purchased them from 2C MedTech, a women-led company based in Dallas. Dental procedures have some of the highest risk of spreading coronavirus. Desiring a solution for the air and surfaces with the same level of successful virus reduction as in dental offices, Dr. Slonim immediately started to research getting a device for her women’s health practice. She was so impressed with the data that she was unwilling to reopen the office without the CASPR units.

Fibroid Institute Dallas reopened the day the CASPR units arrived, providing a safer environment for the staff and patients. Team member Stacey West says, “I’m extremely proud to work with an organization that cares enough to provide employees and patients with the cleanest environment. Knowing the CASPR devices in our facilities eliminate 99.96% of all bacteria, mold, and viruses gives me added peace of mind.”

Additional Precautions

The Fibroid Institute Dallas staff takes many precautions to further ensure the safety of employees and patients from COVID-19. These include prescreening patients, scheduling TeleVisits when applicable, reducing the numbers in the office by asking patients to wait in their vehicles, limiting accompanying visitors, social distancing, checking temperatures and disinfecting regularly. Face coverings and PPE are required, and hand sanitizer is available throughout the office.

According to Dallas fibroids doctor Slonim, “We are still very vigilant about screening everyone entering the office, social distancing, wearing masks, and practicing good hand hygiene. But the CASPR Mobile units give me the confidence, the certainty that we’re doing everything we possibly can to keep our patients and ourselves safe.”

Employee and Patient Feedback

Both patients and team members are appreciative of the extra layer of protection against the virus.

“Having the CASPR units helped my mental state when it was time to go back to work. Knowing that it improved the air and surfaces around me makes me feel safer sitting at the front desk checking in patients,” says Front Desk Coordinator Fabiola Villa.

Patient Tanisha B. says, “When I found out the Fibroid Institute had these CASPR devices, it gave me the extra boost I needed to feel comfortable going to my appointment.”

About Fibroid Institute and Dallas Fibroids Doctor Suzanne Slonim
Dr. Slonim founded Fibroid Institute Dallas and the #FibroidFree movement. Her mission is to relieve women of fibroid symptoms and educate them on treatment options other than hysterectomy and myomectomy.

Uterine fibroids affect three out of four women, most often between the ages of 30 and 50. Although usually benign, fibroids may cause life-altering symptoms. Women of African American ancestry are more likely to be affected. Fibroids do not always cause problems, and they are often discovered during tests for other conditions. Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) is a non-surgical fibroid treatment that causes fibroid tumors to shrink and die.

An interventional radiologist, Dr. Slonim is the leading expert in Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) in North Texas. She has performed 30,000+ procedures in over 20 years of practice. As a nationwide advocate for alternative fibroid treatment, Dr. Slonim is author of the book “Pain-Free Periods: Banish Menstrual Misery, Fight Fibroids, and Get Your Life Back”.

The Fibroid Institute Dallas main office is located at 12400 Coit Road, Suite 505, Dallas, TX 75251, with an additional office at 1010 East Wheatland Road, Suite 200, Duncanville, TX 75116. To schedule a telehealth consult and/or an in-office appointment contact Fibroid Institute Dallas at 469-317-3232.

Long Island MacArthur Airport Becomes the First Airport to Implement CASPR’s Disinfection Technology

CASPR Mobile Units Installed to Aid in COVID-19 Recovery

DALLAS – May 12, 2020 — Long Island MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma, N.Y. recently became the first airport in the world to install continuous pathogen reduction technology to reduce viruses and other microbes both in the air and on surfaces.

The airport installed multiple CASPR Mobile units on May 7 at ticketing counters, security checkpoints, gate areas and baggage claims. This will provide continuous pathogen reduction in every key area of the airport in an effort to protect the 1.6 million passengers it serves each year.

“We have always enjoyed an extremely high level of customer satisfaction at our airport, in the best of times and in the worst of times. As a result of the heightened health concern in this present environment, we are taking the necessary steps based on science and fact to ensure our traveling public’s health and safety through the use of this air purifying technology,” said Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.

While most cleaning solutions in the aviation industry focus on episodic treatment with ultraviolet (UV) light or chemicals, CASPR’s technology offers continuous reduction of viruses and bacteria in a way that is safe for use in occupied spaces, and with no need to modify existing custodial processes.

The CASPR Mobile unit uses a natural catalytic converter process to extract oxygen and moisture from ambient air and then produce and deliver trace levels of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to indoor spaces.

Once in the air — at levels deemed by OSHA to be safe to people, pets, plants, and equipment — the hydrogen peroxide seeks and destroys viruses, bacteria, mold and fungi in the air and on surfaces. With a kill rate of up to 99.96%, CASPR is effective against bacteria, viruses, molds, VOCs, odors, and more.

“As airline passengers and employees return to our airport, we are committed to providing the highest level of comfort and confidence,” said Shelley LaRose-Arken, Commissioner at Long Island MacArthur Airport. “The CASPR pathogen reduction technology will help protect high-traffic areas. We believe these measures will make MacArthur Airport the best choice for Long Islanders as they return to air travel in the months ahead.”
MacArthur Airport’s evaluation team researched several pathogen reduction options including enhanced chemical methods, hydrostatic misters, ultraviolet light, and natural catalytic conversion.

“While all the methods we evaluated have proven pathogen reduction properties, almost all require additional staffing or operating costs, do not allow for continuous operation in occupied spaces, and treat surfaces but not the air. CASPR met all four criteria,” LaRose-Arken said.

“We had previously focused only on applying our technology to the medical field, which has been so hard hit as of late,” said Dr. Christophe Suchy, President of CASPR Technologies. “But as the COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve and affect every industry, we saw a need to bring this technology to other markets, including aviation. With CASPR technology in place, airline passengers and airport employees can receive additional protection and reassurances that these public spaces are safer as they return to more normal levels of commercial aviation.”
