GREENVILLE, Ga. – The Meriwether County School System in Georgia is gearing up for the new school year by making disinfection a priority for students and staff. This summer, the county has installed multiple disinfection systems from CASPR Technologies in schools across the district in an effort to better disinfect classroom air and surfaces and reduce pathogens, mold and viruses including influenza and SARS-CoV-2.

Working with CASPR distributor BioShark, the district installed a mixture of CASPR (Continuous Air & Surface Pathogen Reduction) units in all school, athletic and administrative facilities.

“Back in 2021, we installed CASPR Transit units on our entire bus fleet, and their technology won us over with the ability to continuously disinfect our buses and keep students and drivers safe,” said Dr. Robert Griffin, Superintendent of Meriwether County Schools, “So as a natural next step, we wanted to deploy the technology in our schools ahead of the upcoming academic year so we can add another layer of protection while also maximizing attendance.”

The technology features CASPR’s proprietary NCC™ technology, which converts humidity in ambient air into safe levels of gaseous, residue-free hydrogen peroxide molecules that are continuously spread throughout a target area, eliminating up to 99.96% of viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens in the air and on surfaces.

The Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA) wanted to be proactive in protecting their riders from potential bacteria and viruses after the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the country in 2020. After researching various types of mitigation tools, the Western Massachusetts transit agency, which provided 6,079,333 rides in fiscal year 2022, chose CASPR Technologies to disinfect the air and surfaces on its buses using its CASPR Transit model, specifically designed for buses and trains.

PVTA installed the technology on all 189 buses in its fleet in June. The unobtrusive units are installed in the front and the rear of all buses, and window decals with a QR code will be placed in the window near the front doors to provide passengers with information about the continuously working technology and how it works.

Horine’s commercial operations experience includes scaling businesses and products across multiple industries including technology platforms and marketplaces, supply chain, security and building materials.

He most recently served as vice president of engagement for IntelliCentrics, where he was responsible for the delivery-side engagement strategy for thousands of hospitals and medical facilities using a platform-based technology for healthcare credential management. Horine was previously at Veryable, the on-demand labor marketplace for manufacturing, warehouse and distribution operations.

Horine served as an Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army and received a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
